Eileen with Piano

I have always had a passion for music. While I was at school I learnt the clarinet and piano to grade 8 standard. I then coached younger pupils under the guidance of my music teacher. I was lead clarinet in the Wiltshire Youth Orchestra. I completed teacher training at King Alfred's College, Winchester. I have taught in secondary, middle and first schools.

Since 2000 I taught part time as a numeracy and music specialist in a Redditch first school. I introduced djembe hand drumming for the children. and trained the choir for concerts. I adapt teaching to the needs of the individual student, creating personalised and fun lessons encouraging creativity so pupils can achieve their full potential. I have a 100% exam pass rate spanning 17 years. I have successfully coached pupils through specialist music school entrance auditions, including Birmingham Conservatoire's Junior School At the same time I was developing my private music coaching. Eventually I decided to concentrate solely on 1:1 coaching. I now coach all levels up to grade 8 on the clarinet, piano and theory.

We are a musical family. I taught my daughter the clarinet. She later went to Birmingham Conservatoire and then a music degree at the Welsh College of music and Drama. She now also plays the piano, saxophone and flute. My son learnt the piano and drums.
